How it works

How PayPerTap works.

PayPerTap helps sellers turn social media interest into a verified booking. The seller shares a store or product link, the buyer pays ₹20 to reserve the item, and PayPerTap sends the buyer to WhatsApp with product, price, remaining amount, and contact details ready to share.

How does PayPerTap work for sellers?

The flow fits sellers who already discover buyers socially and want a clear reservation point before direct confirmation.

Research on India's social commerce market describes expanding mobile-first product discovery. PayPerTap focuses on the practical next step for social sellers: share a product, record a fixed booking, reserve it, and continue the sale directly.

01

Create store

Set up a PayPerTap storefront for Instagram and WhatsApp buyers.

02

Add products

Upload product details once instead of repeating them in every DM.

03

Share link

Put the store or product link in bio, stories, chats, and broadcasts.

04

Buyer books with ₹20

The buyer pays the fixed PayPerTap booking fee to reserve the item.

05

Product is reserved

The booking supplies a reserved item and buyer record for follow-up.

06

WhatsApp handoff

Buyer details move into WhatsApp so the seller can confirm the rest.

07

Seller collects directly

The seller collects the remaining amount through UPI, COD, or their usual process.

08

Mark complete

After direct fulfilment, the seller can mark the order sold or complete.

How does PayPerTap work for buyers?

Buyers can see what they are booking and which payment responsibility remains with the seller.

01

Open product link

The buyer opens a store or direct product link shared on Instagram or WhatsApp.

02

Check details

The buyer reviews the selected product and its displayed price before booking.

03

Pay ₹20 booking

The buyer pays the fixed PayPerTap fee, and the item becomes reserved in the flow.

04

Share message

The buyer continues to WhatsApp with product, booking, and contact context ready.

05

Pay seller directly

The remaining amount is paid to the seller through their chosen direct process.

06

Confirm delivery

The buyer and seller confirm fulfilment and any seller policy directly.

What happens after the ₹20 booking?

Reservation is the handoff point, not full checkout: the seller still owns payment and fulfilment.

How does WhatsApp handoff work?

PayPerTap prepares the buyer's product, price, booking, remaining amount, and contact details to share. Official WhatsApp Business use cases include business conversations such as order confirmations and shipment updates. PayPerTap does not send automated replies.

What does the seller handle directly?

The seller collects the remaining product amount through UPI, COD, or their offered process, confirms delivery, and manages returns or exchanges according to their policy. PayPerTap keeps the ₹20 platform fee and provides no seller payout in Phase 1.

Does PayPerTap replace the seller's workflow?

No. It adds a verified booking layer before WhatsApp, while the seller remains responsible for the product, delivery, and remaining payment.

How it works FAQ

Is PayPerTap available in India?

Yes. PayPerTap is built for Indian Instagram and WhatsApp sellers and uses a fixed ₹20 booking model. Sellers remain responsible for deciding where they sell, whether they can deliver to a buyer location, and which direct remaining-payment methods they offer. Pricing details.

How does the ₹20 booking work?

A buyer pays a fixed ₹20 booking through PayPerTap for the selected product. That booking records buyer and product details and reserves the item in the PayPerTap flow. In Phase 1, the ₹20 is PayPerTap's platform verified-booking fee, not an advance remitted to the seller. Verified booking feature. Pricing details.

Does the seller receive the ₹20?

No. In Phase 1, the seller does not receive the fixed ₹20 as a payout, advance, or split payment. PayPerTap keeps the ₹20 as its platform verified-booking fee, while the seller collects the remaining product amount directly from the buyer. Pricing details.

Can sellers use UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe, or COD?

Yes. For the remaining product amount, sellers can use UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe, COD, or another direct process they offer to buyers. Those payments happen between buyer and seller. PayPerTap's Phase 1 payment role is limited to the fixed ₹20 booking fee. Pricing details.

Is PayPerTap a payment gateway?

No. PayPerTap is not a full payment gateway in Phase 1. It handles the fixed ₹20 verified booking, booking record, product reservation context, and WhatsApp handoff. It does not process the full product price or settle the seller's remaining amount. Pricing details.

What happens after a buyer books?

After a buyer books, PayPerTap records the booking details, reserves the product in the booking flow, and prepares the WhatsApp handoff. The buyer continues to the seller with product, booking, remaining amount, and contact context ready for direct confirmation. How PayPerTap works.

How does WhatsApp handoff work?

WhatsApp handoff works by preparing a message after the fixed ₹20 booking. The message gives the seller product and buyer context so the conversation can continue without restarting from scratch. The buyer opens WhatsApp and sends the prepared details to the seller. WhatsApp handoff feature.

Can sellers use WhatsApp Business?

Yes. Sellers can use WhatsApp Business after a PayPerTap booking because the final conversation still happens directly in WhatsApp. PayPerTap provides the storefront, booking record, and handoff context; it does not replace the seller's chosen WhatsApp account. WhatsApp Business use cases.

Can sellers share direct product links?

Yes. Sellers can share direct product links in Instagram DMs, stories, bio links, WhatsApp chats, groups, status updates, or other permitted channels. Direct links help buyers review one item before placing the fixed booking and continuing to WhatsApp. Product links feature.

Does the product become reserved after booking?

Yes. Completing the fixed ₹20 booking reserves the selected product in the PayPerTap booking flow. The reservation gives the seller buyer and product context, but the seller still needs to confirm product accuracy, remaining payment, delivery, and final completion. Verified booking feature.

What is the difference between reserved and sold?

Reserved means a buyer has completed the PayPerTap booking and the seller has a serious follow-up to handle. Sold means the seller has completed their direct confirmation, remaining payment, and fulfilment decision. PayPerTap separates these because final payment happens outside PayPerTap. Order organization.

Can sellers manually mark a product as sold?

Yes. Sellers can mark products or bookings as sold or complete through the available seller workflow after they finish direct confirmation with the buyer. This lets the booking flow distinguish buyer intent from the seller's final product completion decision. Order organization.

Who handles returns and exchanges?

The seller handles returns and exchanges according to the seller's own product terms and policy. PayPerTap does not handle the full product payment or seller-managed remaining amount, so product-level return, exchange, and delivery issues are discussed with the seller. Refund and cancellation.

Can buyers cancel a booking?

Buyers can contact the seller about cancelling the product purchase and should review the seller's cancellation terms. The PayPerTap ₹20 booking fee has a specific platform role in Phase 1, while product-level cancellation depends on the seller conversation and policy. Refund and cancellation.

What should sellers and buyers confirm directly?

Booking creates an organized starting point; completing the sale still needs a clear conversation.

Product and availability

Sellers should keep product descriptions and availability accurate. Once booked, the reserved item gives both parties a common reference, while the seller confirms any sizing, condition, customization, or fulfilment details needed for the actual purchase.

Remaining amount and method

The ₹20 platform fee does not settle the price of the product. The seller tells the buyer the remaining amount and their offered direct method, such as UPI or COD, then confirms receipt or delivery terms outside PayPerTap's fee flow.

Delivery and completion

Delivery address confirmation, shipping arrangements, collection, and completion remain between seller and buyer. Once the seller finishes the transaction, they can use their workflow to mark the reserved product sold or complete.

Changes or cancellations

If plans change after booking, the buyer should contact the seller in WhatsApp. The seller's stated return, exchange, or cancellation policy applies to the product transaction and any remaining amount the seller collected directly.

Booking record and support

The booking record helps identify the selected product and buyer context if a booking-flow question arises. For product quality, remaining payment, shipping, delivery, return, or exchange questions, buyers should continue directly with the seller because those parts of the transaction are seller-managed. This keeps booking and fulfilment responsibilities understandable for both sides.
